Part 4: Picturing God's armour

(This is part 4 of 19 parts in this class)

God's armour is functional, light and simple. In it you can "run against a troop and leap over a wall". (Ps.18:29) God wants us to see ourselves in His armour. He wants us to have a mental picture of ourselves in His spiritual armour.

It's important to check we are getting the right kind of picture. You shouldn't be picturing God's armour like the armour the fictional character Sir Lancelot wore. We ought to have a picture of it more like the armour the psalmist David and his mighty men wore! God's armour is given to us so we can be agile, victorious combat soldiers!

It is dynamic armour of this sort that Paul is picturing when he exhorts,

Take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:13 - NKJV
