Prayer and God's will

This will clear up a lot of the misunderstanding you may have about prayer and the will of God. I show you how you can know when it's the will of God to answer your prayer.

A Visitor's Question:

Can I pray for something and it really happen?

My Answer:

You ask - "Can I really pray for healing or for someone to turn to Christ and it really happen?" You certainly can! I do this often. It as is common today as it has ever been since Jesus died and rose again.

You also ask - "Is it not the case that it will only happen if it's God's will?" This is correct. However, it is always God's will for people to be healed and to turn to Christ.

This leads to your next question - "If so, how can I discover what His will really is?" We discover God's will in the Bible. God's Word reveals God's will to us. I know it is God's will for someone to turn to Christ, for example, because the Bible tells me so!

In regard to people turning to Christ the Bible declares,

"God will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

1 Timothy 2:4 - KJV

In regard to healing the Bible reports Jesus' words to the leper. The leper said,

"Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean."

Jesus answered,

"I will; be thou clean."

Matthew 8:2-3 - KJV

Perhaps you think His will for healing was only towards the leper - please remember this, the Bible also tells us that God is "no respecter of persons." This phrase literally means there is no favouritism with God! Acts 10:43.

Your other problems about prayer will be cleared up, I believe, if you study my class on prayer entitled Word Power.
