Prove God with your tithes

Previous Part

Part 2: Tithing testimony

For years I have proven God with my tithes and He has proven Himself true to His word. I experience that the windows of heaven are open for me. I experience that the devourer is rebuked for my sake.

The result is that my family and I know financial well-being even though in worldly terms our visible income is very low. God makes up the difference. God protects what we have. God fulfils His promise that says,

"A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked."

Psalm 37:16 - NKJV

I must tell you of something else I do when I tithe - I rejoice with my tithe! I follow the pattern of tithing found in Deuteronomy 26. I take my tithe and I put it in the basket presenting to Jesus, my High Priest.

As I present my tithes I praise God for delivering us from darkness and for setting us up in the kingdom of His dear Son. I celebrate that we are now in the land He promised us and I begin to rejoice for every good thing He has done for us. Together with my wife, family and church I give thanks for all His blessings in our lives. Often we share testimonies together of all that He has done. (See Deuteronomy 26:2-10)

What I am I doing? I am delighting myself in the Lord! As a result He gives me the desires of my heart! Psalm 37:4.

My life is very different because I tithe. It is especially different because I prove Him with my tithe. It is radically different because I rejoice and worship with my tithe.

Your circumstances can be radically different too. You just need to start being an imitator of those who through the obedience that comes from faith prove God in His faithfulness!

I was reflecting one morning on what the tithe means to me and the following teaching came in my spirit.

I live my life in the promises of God. They're the grounds on which I receive things every day! Everything I have has been received or retained before God's throne of grace as I've come to Him with a promise He's given in my heart and in my mouth. Romans 10:8.

I have promises of God from scripture that cover every area and aspect of my life. There is nothing I require in this life that I find myself dependent on physical conditions for; all I have need of I depend on God's promises for. Those promises provide me with the grounds I need for for receiving.

Now this is fine for me because I've got specific promises from God for each and every aspect of my life and I believe absolutely in those promises! Do you? What happens if you're looking to live this way of faith and you haven't got promises for certain aspects of your life? In those aspects of life you're going to have problems both in the area of receiving and of retaining.

This brings me to the tithe. There are promises linked to the tithe that you won't find anywhere else in scripture and these promises cover fundamental aspects of the financial and material zones of our lives. What promises are these? The ones contained in Malachi 3:11 and Proverbs 3:10.

These promises above are tithe linked. They are only accessible to someone who tithes. If you're trying to live by faith, how are you going to get on well in life without these promises? If you aren't a tither, you're without these promises! If you need these promises, you need to tithe!
