Part 1: Restoration - God's plan for you

(This is part 1 of 7 parts in this class)

You might be asking right now, "How are things ever going to be put right in my life?" You may be questioning, "What am I to do? Am I meant to continue on as I always have? Will it all come right then?"

Jesus' first disciples asked questions like this too. As Jesus spoke to them before ascending to take His place with the Father they asked about restoration.

They asked Him,

Lord, will you at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Acts 1:6 - KJV

Jesus replied,

It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in his own authority but you shall receive power...

Acts 1:7-8 - NKJV

The disciples wanted to know about restoration. They were eager to hear about God's people Israel being restored to their God-promised status, land and wealth. They desired to know when this would occur.

Jesus answered that knowledge of the timing of this wasn't to be theirs but power was. They were to receive power - not ordinary power but power of the kind God has and exerts; power that not only restores but also creates!

Here is the answer then to your questions. This is how things are going to be put right in your life - not by your natural power but by God's supernatural power. Now that you are a Christian you are not to continue on as you always have; you are to continue on in the power of God.

Only God's power can bring an enduring restoration of good in your life. Only His power can make wrong things right, produce goodness where there has been ailment and deliverance where there has been oppression. It is by His power that God can bring about restoration in your life and give you a tangible manifestation of His redemption.
