Decision Making
"With so many decisions to make in life these days, don't you think you ought to know how to make God aided decisions? Discover how in prayer you can have God's help in decision making."
Do you want to know how to make the right choices? Pray before you choose. Pray so you'll know what or who to choose. Ask in prayer for God's leading.
Walk for awhile with Jesus in Luke's Gospel and you'll see Him praying.
Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles.
Luke 6:12-13 - NKJV
Prayer proceeded all that Jesus said and did. He prayed to the Father before He made choices or took decisions and before every other kind of task that He faced. As a result, He said of Himself, "I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner." When you give prayer the same priority Jesus gave it, you'll also come to see what the Father does and hear what He says. (John 5:19)
Jesus' ministry was led by prayer. Your life and ministry in the world or to the church will have to be led by prayer too. If you're going to follow Jesus, you're going to have to follow Him in prayer.
In Proverbs we are given very specific counsel about seeking God before making decisions. Notice that with the counsel is a promise that if we acknowledge the Lord then He will direct us.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5 - 6 - NKJV
Let your every decision be made in prayer! Get in prayer and let your way forward be revealed!
