Part 5: New Creation

(This is part 5 of 6 parts in this class)

Apostle Paul under inspiration of the Spirit calls the reborn believer a new creation!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - Amplified Bible

What a liberty! We are set free from all that old junk we had in our lives. As far as God is concerned it has passed away. It is for this reason God exhorts us to put off from our lives the conduct of the old person that we were and put on the new creation that we now are.

You must, therefore, as you have been taught, divest yourselves of that old personality, which was characteristic of the way in which you used to live, and which was rotting away, seduced by its own desires. You must have a completely new attitude of mind. You must put on that new personality, which was divinely created, and which shows itself in that justice and holiness, which are the products of the truth.

Ephesians 4:22-24 - Barclay's Translation

Wonderfully, there is even more to this rebirth we've been through. It is not only that we have become a new creation but also that we have been delivered - just as a baby is physically delivered from its mother's womb. Spiritually, it was necessary for us to be delivered from the kingdom of darkness and to this end God acted as our midwife.

The Bible tells us,

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

Colossians 1:13 - NKJV

As a result, here we now stand - totally conveyed out of the kingdom of darkness and set up in the kingdom of God's dear Son, Jesus. We are new creations - God's own children - citizens of the kingdom of God's Son!
